Move, Develop, Thrive: Beyond Tummy Time (4-10 months)

Move, Develop, Thrive: Beyond Tummy Time builds on the basics of tummy time in this interactive, fun, and supportive workshop exploring your baby’s introduction to pre-crawling infant movement. Movement is one of the first ways babies begin to understand themselves and the world around them. This workshop will give you the tools for shaping the foundation of your baby’s body and brain by providing your baby the foundation of strength, coordination and problem solving they need for the rest of their life. Topics will include: rolling, sitting, crawling, play activities and toys, balance, postural alignment, and problem solving for the early years of movement.

Ages: 4-10 months (pre-crawlers) **Family and caregivers are welcome to participate. Please no older siblings in order to focus our attention on the babies.

About the instructor:

Dr. Amanda Montoya, PT, DPT, PCS is a pediatric physical therapist specializing in newborns and infants. She has her own practice in Ventura County. She began teaching infant development classes after repetitively seeing patients for limitations that could have potentially been prevented with introduction to early tummy time and movement. She developed these workshops for parents to experience ways to easily integrate tummy time and movement into their daily routine in order to optimize their developmental skills and promote gross motor, fine motor, sensory and visual development. She's seen first hand with her own two babies and in her practice, that when a baby loves moving, playing and learning on the floor, the experience and connection during the first years will completely change for the better!

Cost: $35 per family
